The Industrial Park

Englewood is only about five square miles.  There are limited places where new development can occur.  One of them is the Old Industrial Park where a developer can buy land and old buildings.  We were right all along in predicting that the $500 million project would never take place the way it was planned.  To date, we can only see some housing, retail, highway restaurants, and maybe a hotel (long stay).  We cannot imagine gigantic office buildings in a place without a train or a ferry to New York City.  The Old Industrial Park is not like the waterfronts of Jersey City, Edgewater or Hoboken where office buildings flourish.  Eventually, something will be built in a small scale.

The EHOA Board defers opinions on the modified proposal by developer S. Hekemian Kasparian Troast (HKT) until he shows the City and its residents that he has secured the funds to do the construction.

The new proposal was rejected by the City Council as they consider other options.  (Source: The Press Journal)

The billion dollar question remains:  “Where is the money?”
