Voting Patterns in the November 5 General Election

The percentage of registered voters actually voting ranged from 38% to 59% and averaged 49% citywide.  As voters went down the ballot from the Senate election to the Councilman election, the total number of votes decreased.

²       3% of the total voters appearing at the polls did not vote for Senator

²       6% did not vote for Congressman.

²       10% did not vote for County Executive

²       12% did not vote for County Freeholder

²       13% did not vote for Councilman

In spite of the heated campaign for First Ward Councilman, only 52% of the registered First Ward voters showed up at the polls and only 87% voted for Councilman.
