City Budget

Attached is a chart comparing the percent increase in the City budget with the percent increase in the police budget over the past five years.  The police budget has grown at a rate greater than three times that of the total City budget.  We now spend more in Police than Fire, Library, Sanitation and Roads combined.

In order to stabilize the City's tax picture in the future we are recommending the implementation of as many redevelopment projects as practical to increase the City's tax base over the long term.
