The construction year begins in the spring and ends in early November 2002. We thank Councilmen Douglas Bern and Michael Wildes for their efforts.
After extensive negotiations, property owners around the
land formerly owned by Marriott and the Presbyterian Church entered into an
agreement with the present owner and developer, Liberty Gate. They agreed that a maximum of twenty-four
townhouses may be built on that site.
This cap will be added to the property deed, as a restriction in the
event that the developer sells the land.
Liberty Gate will also need final approval of its plans from the City
Council and the Planning Board.
The East Hill Alliance and the EHOA fought a long weary battle for over five years! Preventing the building of the assisted living facility, which was previously planned by Marriott, is a victory for the neighbors as well as Englewood’s homeowners and taxpayers!
You may have noticed that many city trees on residential streets are marked
to be cut down. On behalf of our
members, we contacted city officials for an explanation. Although they may appear healthy, the trees
marked are hollow inside. They present
a safety hazard and must be removed.
If you want a city tree replaced that is located near your property contact Karen Rawl at 201-871-6664 or 201-567-2381
