Primary Election Results
Congratulations
are in order for Rev. Vernon Walton, pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist
Church, who won the Democratic City Council primary and for Dr. Robert
Lebovics, a physician, who won the Republican nomination. The winner of the election in November
will take retiring City Councilman Wayne Hamer's at-large seat.

And while voters rejected the school budget increase of 12.5% in the
April election, the City Council upheld the increase by a unanimous vote,
disregarding the voters’ wishes. Find out more
