Voter’s Rights

It is our opinion, that when the government in any state is going to spend huge amounts of taxpayer’s money in a particular project, which will raise taxes to property owners, a referendum should be put on the ballot.  It is the right of the voters to decide how they want to spend their tax money.   Our former Governor decided to spend billions of dollars in construction, without allowing the voters to participate in the decision.  This issue is now in the Superior Court on an appeal by a large group of residents in the State of New Jersey.  This organization is called “Stop the Debt“.   In a democracy it is absolutely necessary that the voters be fully informed about how their tax dollars are spent. Only when the majority decides, democracy works.  The right to vote is precious and should not be taken lightly by any politician or school district.
