Autumn is here and the leaves have started falling. While it is a beautiful time of year in
Englewood, it also brings safety concerns to all of us. In particular the piles of leaves narrow our
roadways, creating a dangerous situation for drivers and pedestrians.
Inside this mailing you will find the leaf pickup schedule for your street. Please take advantage of the first leaf pickup date on the schedule. Place unbagged leaves at curbside two to five days before the scheduled pickup. The pickup may not occur exactly on the day specified, but will occur within a few days of that date. Leaves may not be left curbside for twelve business days after your first scheduled pickup date, or you may be issued a summons. Please be considerate!
REMEMBER:
Ø Do
not place leaves at curbside after the designated collection date. Under no
circumstances may leaves be placed in the roadway within 12 business days after
the first collection. The leaves will not be collected, and you may be issued a
summons. It is also unfair to residents who comply with the rules.
Ø Landscape
contractors must comply with all the rules. They must adhere-to the schedule or
be fined and have their registration revoked for non-compliance.
Ø Do
not use plastic bags.
Ø Do
not park vehicles on top of leaves, or in any way obstruct leaf piles. A
summons may be issued.
Ø Leaves
must be free of debris; including limbs and branches.
The transfer station is open from 9:00AM--12:00PM on the last Saturday of each month for bulk items.
